Serving the Connecticut Shoreline: We Guarantee Experience, Quality, and Knowledge You Can Count On

Did you know that insulation reduces average home heating and cooling costs by about 15%? Ironically, many Connecticut homes were built more than two decades ago, and don’t have any modern insulation installed in them. Some of the newer homes have insufficient insulation. This results in drafty rooms, energy loss, increased utility bills, and an overall uncomfortable environment. Blaming your HVAC system won’t help. Insulation installation by an expert contractor can solve the problem.

As a full-service insulation company, we are proud to offer a variety of insulation and energy-enhancing services. With over 20 years of experience in construction and nearly 20 years of dedicated experience with insulation, we’re a team of expert professionals. From crawl spaces to attics, and everywhere in-between, we provide the most intelligent and cost-efficient insulation solutions in the market.

Our comprehensive insulation services keep your home warmer, greener, and safer.

Although we offer a complete line of insulation services, the specialty of our insulation company lies in spray foam insulation which is widely popular and one of the most efficient insulation available in the industry.

fiberglass batting

Fiberglass Insulation

It can be found in various forms like blankets, batts, and loose-fill. It offers lower R values of around R-2.75 to R-5.25 per inch. It is installed in joists, and rafters as well as  between studs, in walls, ceilings, and floors.

Cellulose Insulation

Cellulose insulation is inexpensive and environmentally friendly. Loose-fill cellulose offers an R-value of R-3.6 to R-3.8 per inch making it a favorite option for homeowners.

placing mineral wool

Mineral Wool

Mineral wool offers a higher R-value and contains about 70% of recycled material. The two main ingredients of mineral wool are basalt and industrial slag. It is a green product and has three times more density than fiberglass. It is also fire resistant and has an R-value of 3.0 to 3.3 per inch

FAQs

The resistance of insulation to heat flow is measured by its R-value. “Thermal resistance” is another term for it. The stronger the insulating power, the higher the R-value. The American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) has devised test procedures for determining the R-value of various insulating materials. Remember that R-values are determined by the type of material, thickness, and installed weight per square foot, not just by thickness.

Insulation helps you save money, improves your home’s comfort, and reduces carbon footprint by lowering your energy consumption. The US Department of Energy (DOE) estimates that an average American family spends close to $1,500 a year on heating and cooling. According to DOE figures, energy costs typically account for 44% of a homeowner’s utility bill. According to the DOE, householders can save between 10% and 50% on their energy expenses by following certain steps. One of the most significant steps is to increase the thermal insulation in their existing homes or to purchase additional insulation when acquiring new dwellings.

Recommended R-Values for Connecticut (Zone 5) according to the US Dept. of energy are as follows. The chart is reproduced from their website:
